At The Wright's Center, we base our methods on a model of inter-generational assistance and reinvestment into the community. Our Innovative, certified programs can serve all citizens, regardless of culture, race, or disability. We provide a multi-faceted programs in a welcoming multicultural and multiracial environment. We bring the best professional care to assist families with coping and managing the care of elderly/disabled loved ones.
Established in 1989, The Wright's Center is a project of VISIONS Inc. (Vigorous Interventions In Ongoing Natural Settings), a nonprofit organization that specializes in multiculturalism training, diversity, and organizational and community development. VISIONS was founded by Valeria Batts, PhD, Angela Bryant, JD, Ida Dew, MA Ed, and John Capitman, Phd, all natives of Rocky Mount, NC.
We are housed in the building that was once Wright's Chick Shack, which is the oldest Black-owned business in Rocky Mounts. Wright's Chick Shack was a landmark art deco building that we were able to develop into The Wright's Center through rehabilitative and adaptive techniques.
We are a United Way funded agency, certified by the North Carolina Division of Social Services, and members of both NCADSA (NC Adult Day Services Association) and the NC Center for Nonprofits.
